Thomas Steiner is a proud dad-of-three, a Research Scientist at Google, and a PhD student at UPC.edu. His main research interests these days are the Semantic Web, Linked Data, and the architectural style REST. He holds two Master of Computer Science degrees, one from the Technical University of Karlsruhe, Germany, and the other from the École Nationale Supérieure d'Informatique et de Mathématiques Appliquées de Grenoble, France. In addition to that he works on making the Internet a better place, tweets as @tomayac and blogs at http://blog.tomayac.com.
Roger Macdonald joined the Internet Archive to help create an open digital public library of television news, providing a means to thoughtfully reflect upon the most pervasive and persuasive medium of our time. No coincidence that he spent the previous eleven years helping to manage the nation's largest independent noncommercial television network, Link TV. Prior to co-founding the network devoted to global news and culture in1999, Roger helped create and manage several other organizations engaged in addressing international challenges, often through media, including the Gorbachev Foundation. Dan Stieglitz is a technologist and entrepreneur who enjoys contributing to the evolution of media through technology. Dan’s 14 years of technology experience spans work at companies from Goldman, Sachs & Co. to Major League Baseball Advanced Media. Currently he is founder and CTO of Stainless Code, a software development and consulting company specializing in emerging media. Stainless Code’s metadata management products are used by media organizations to acquire, store and publish live, time-indexed data feeds that accompany traditional media streams. These metadata streams enable rich user experiences for connected devices. Stainless Code’s clients include MLB.com, Turner Broadcasting and Bloomberg Sports.
Darin Wilson has been a software developer since the days when you got help for coding problems by posting a message on a CompuServe forum. He is currently a Senior Application Developer at KCETLink, where he develops web sites and mobile apps supporting KCETLink's mission to engage, inform, and inspire viewers to become involved in the world. Darin was a founding employee of Metaweb, and worked on the earliest versions of the Freebase project, which now powers Google's Knowledge Graph. His other work includes applications for online education, libraries, social media, travel kiosks, and robotic arms.
